You wrap it up.

Yesterday I learned some important lessons about wrapping paper:

  • Never wrap in a cramped space.
  • Never buy glittered paper
  • Never cut without accurately assessing how much paper you will need.
  • Never attempt to wrap a cylinder.
Otherwise, the result will be:
  • Extreme anxiety, uneven cutting, folded tape, and a bad mood.
  • Sparkled face, pants, carpet, car, and gift-receivers home....for days.
  • Extreme frustration when the paper has an inch gap around the gift.
  • A massive smush of paper, suffocated by tape, on both ends of the present.
The proper steps to resolve these issues would be:
  • Calmly move to a larger space or adjust surrounding items.
  • Embrace the extra dazzle...or vacuum.
  • Gently roll up insufficient paper for future use, measure paper, re-cut.
  • Switch to the tootsie roll wrapping method.
What felt good in the moment:
  • A tornado-spasm-tantrum: sound effects, frightening face, and destroyed paper included.
Sigh, glitter...everywhere.
